I have the winners from my ‘pay it forward’ giveaway.  I did the random generator thingie, but can’t work out how to put the results up on my blog.  So they are as follows:

Winner #1 – Butterfly cards – is comment 15 – Virginia!!!!

Winner #2 – Round scallop cards – is comment 10 – Heather Maria!!!!

Winner #3 – Little tree cards – is comment 2 – Dawn T!!!!

Congratulations girls and please send me an email at cmmillar@optusnet.com.au with your addresses and I’ll get those cards out to you later in the week.

My sister is home from the Northern Territory on holidays so we’re taking off to Sydney for a few days for a little sister time together!  I’m really looking forward to it.  The kids will go and have a few days at Nanna’s and all will be happy – including Jason who gets to have the house to himself for a few days which he loves too!!!  Not long after we get back from Sydney he’ll be going to work up at Emerald for about a week or 2 (Emerald is about 7 hours drive from here).

A few things to share.

I did this layout for the Hero Arts die cut challenge a couple of weeks ago.  Love how it came to together.

And lastly, facebook.  Whilst it’s been a great way of catching up with old friends and keeping in contact with interstate relatives, it’s also been a way of finding out sad news.  Last week I found out that a girl that I worked with died just last month from cancer.  She was only a little older than me and has a 12 year old daughter.  I also found out that another work friends husband committed suicide last year.

I really appreciate the scrapping friends that have wanted to add me as their friend on facebook, however I do like to keep facebook just for family and old friends as this is my way of communicating with them, and I have blogs for keeping up with my scrapping friends.  I’m sure  you will all understand and appreciate that.

Have a great week everyone and I’ll see you when I get back from Sydney!!

Queenslander!!!!

Proud to be one of these tonight!!!!

We made history in the end though!!!

QUEENSLANDER!!!!!!!!!!!

Back with the winners of my pay it forward in a couple of days.

Pay it forward

PayItForward
Recently I was lucky to have won a ’pay it forward’ on Ros’s blog and now I get to play along in the pay it forward.

I will make something special for three people who comment on this post, and those commenters can do their own “Pay it forward” on their blog.
I will make and send off the goodies sometime in the next 2 months.
If you are interested in playing leave a comment on this post, I’ll draw 3 names from the comments and you can then play “Pay it forward” on your blog. Edit to add: If you want to play along and don’t have a blog, that’s fine too, I know that you, my lovely crafty friends will pay it forward in some way even if not via a blog.

I’ve already created the following 3 little gift card sets to send to the names I draw out.
Butterfly gift cards
Multi gift cards
Tree gift cards
I’ve just loved creating these cards using some new nesties and stamps I purchased recently as well as some diecuts (how cute are those trees?)

The gift of poetry. We went and visited Jason’s Nanna on Monday and each time we see her we’re saddened by her decline further and further into alzheimers. This time she has lost weight and no longer wears her teeth. She can’t talk really at all other than a few simple words that are hard to understand and we’re unsure if she knows who we are. She sat pretty quietly the whole time we were there, however when Jason and his Mum started reciting poetry to her a light clicked on inside. Her eyes got wider and she started moving her mouth trying to say the words. The more they got into a rhythm with the poem the more she came alive. It was a poem Nanna had taught Jason as a youngester called ‘The green eye of the little yellow god’
It was such a beautiful, yet teary moment.

And lastly, here is a layout I did of Shayla a couple of weeks ago. We’d curled her hair this day, but it was a couple of years ago when she first had her ’spacer’ put in her mouth and it created this big gap in her teeth. It really changed the whole shape of her mouth.

Have a fabulous week everyone!! And thanks again for dropping by!

This crazy weather

Just 2 days ago we were fishing all day in the beautiful sunshine just across from Caloundra on the tip of Bribie Island, the kids even swam in the water and today it’s so cold I’ve got a jacket on and my socks and slippers and it hasn’t stopped raining all day!!!!!! Just crazy!!
Yes, Sunday I got to try out my Mothers Day present which was a lovely Alvey combo fishing rod. Here’s a little pic of me with my first catch of the day which was an under sized bream. Not too long after that I caught the biggest catch of the day, again a bream. We caught 8 bream all up and had a yummy feed that night.

Mothers day we tried to head over to Redcliffe with the rest of Brisbane for a picnic, but it was so busy that we couldn’t even get a park, so we head back to our place instead and our Mum’s both came over for lunch.
Here’s a pic of Jason’s Mum with the grandkids.

This past weekend we got to babysit a friends little girl. Her name is Willow and she is a little darling! The kids have been begging me again for a little brother or sister.
Here’s a couple of photos I took of her while she was here.

Thanks to everyone that stops by and leaves comments, I really appreciate it!!!

How generous is Debbie, here she goes again with the most amazing blog candy I’ve ever seen! I priced Copic pens at my local Office Works this week and they were $124 for a set of 12 and here Debbie is giving away 36 of them! P1010972
So check out Debbie’s blog here

sokuseki_wakameThis is totally random, but I’m addicted to these little instant misso soup sachets at the moment. They can be bought from Coles (and probably other supermarkets) and are just great for around 3-4pm in the afternoon when you’re getting peckish! Just thought I’d share!
A few pages for Aussie Scrap Source
My beautiful friend Leisa from Scrapsidaisy was so kind to allow me to scrap this page about her adorable new baby boy. I loved doing this page, thanks Leisa. (using Crate Paper Lillian)0424-chris0424cu3-chris
This was a challenge where the prompt was ‘nobody knows’ and I did this page on Jason’s excitement on finally getting his project car registered. It took 4 years to get this baby on the road! (number plate blanked out for obvious reasons)

The following 2 cards where for the last 2 challenges on the Hero Arts blog. This first one was a marathon card for me, took me so long – I’m a very simple card creator normally! I bought a heat gun and played around with ink pools and all sorts of things on this card, you can read more about it here
wishing-you
And this one was to use flowers on your cards, you can read more about it here

Now, you’re probably wondering about the title, well, I finally altered my Moxie tampon and panty liner containers and made holders for little sets of gift/note cards. These containers were too cute not to alter and the Doll stamps from Hero Arts were perfect for the tiny cards!

Lest we forget

anzac

ANZAC Day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It is the day we remember all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.
